Winners and finalists will be announced in the July 1 bulletin, and contacted directly the previous week. First-place winners will be published in Glimmer Train. (All stories are considered for publication.)

Both categories are open to all. (Last year 42% of all winning stories were their authors' 1st publications!)

Essays in this bulletin:
Javier Marías: I still hadn't decided if someone was going to die or not, and, if so, who. Of course, once a book is finished, it seems impossible that the story would be different from the way it finally was. (read more)
Roxana Robinson: I come to know their backgrounds, what sort of lives they came from, who their parents were, where they went to school, and so I come to know how they will react to things. I come to feel sympathy for them, and compassion. (read more)
Myla Goldberg: The subject grabbed me by the neck and I had to follow it. I had finished Bee Season and it wasn't out yet. It was that in-between year when you're done but you're just waiting. (read more)
